inter-mold® technology allows hooks to be moulded directly into plastic parts. The hooks are moulded during a standard injection cycle (one-shot) becoming an integral part of the product - similar a rib. This is made possible by using a specifically designed insert that is mounted into the injection mould. Hook shapes are pre-machined in the insert to enable hook formation.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

The inter-mold® technology is intended for injection moulded parts and can be used with a wide range of plastic resins such as: Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (HDPE and LDPE), Polyacetal (POM), Nylon (PA6 and PA6.6), and other thermoplastic elastomers.

HOOK DESIGN

Three hook designs have been developed and their use is based on the application and nature of the woven, non-woven or knitted loop materials used for engagement:
  • Standard Hook: Designed for medium peel and shear applications.
  • Dual Hook: Designed for high peel and shear applications.
  • Micro Hook: Designed for high shear applications with very small hooks

INSERTS

Normal inter-mold® inserts are flat and can be made into any shape. Inserts with special geometries or specific hook orientation and density can be designed.
